Abstract Studying the Islamic lifestyle is a rich field for research. The research could strive to find answers to questions such as the nature of Islamic lifestyle, the characteristics of Islamic lifestyle as portrayed in the Koran and the traditions, the characteristics of a virtuous man, principles and bases of an Islamic lifestyle, the distinctive features and advantages of an Islamic lifestyle in comparison to other lifestyles, the true nature of an Islamic lifestyle and the role of anthropology and worldview and goal of life in the lifestyle. Every faith and religion presents man with a particular lifestyle proclaiming that the ideal society and a healthy life would accrue if their precepts and way of life are followed. The fact is that when the issues of an Islamic lifestyle and a life of virtue are introduced two points occur to the mind. In other words, the premises of an Islamic lifestyle and a life of virtue imply two other premises: (A) At present, human communities are plagued with ills and harms as a non-Islamic way of life; and (B) A life of virtue is attained once the what and how of an Islamic lifestyle and life of virtue is grasped. The present paper aims to examine a life of virtue as portrayed in Koran as a foundation for building an Islamic lifestyle. Our findings show that faith and good deeds are the two bases and criteria of an Islamic lifestyle and means of attaining a life of virtue. A life of virtue and convergence with God can be attained through faith and good deeds. Since "life" bestirs creatures with sense and motion, a "life of virtue" leads to insightfulness into the Almighty and a journey in divine lights and an enlightened lifestyle for human beings. Since an Islamic lifestyle and its regularization for the whole mankind has been neglected, research in a life of virtue as shown in Koran and the study of its manifestations in life can help us find the path towards a lifestyle endorsed by Islam.
